HYDERABAD, JULY 14. Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday demanded that the Centre sanction 100 days of work to rural population in the State under the Employment Guarantee Scheme. The former Union Minister, Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, the BJP State vice-president and spokesperson, S.V. Seshagiri Rao, and the former State Yuva Morcha president, Naresh, said they had just returned from a tour of the Rayalaseema region and regretted the "unemployment and poverty all around". They said not having enough water for the first crop in July was an alarming sign. The former Union Minister said whether it was the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme or the Upper Tunga, the Sunkesula Anicut or the Penna-Ahobilam Balancing Reservoir, the situation was the same.
