Shimoga
By Our Special Correspondent
SHIMOGA, JULY 14. The district unit of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh will hold a protest rally here on Monday to protest against what it defined as anti-farmer policies of the Government. Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, A.S. Vishwanath, president of the sangh's district unit, said the farmers would take out a procession from Ramanna Shetty Park before holding a public meeting. He said the rally would oppose the mining activities at Ambargudda in Sagar taluk and the move to develop "mono forests" at Hosnagar, Sagar, and Tirthahalli. The protesters would seek fair prices for milk and waiver of the interest on crop loans in view of the drought in the State.
