KOLLAM, JULY 14. The State general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), P. Venugopal, has said that the maiden budget of the United Progressive Alliance Government was against the interest of the youth of the country. He was inaugurating the district committee meeting of the BJYM here yesterday. Mr. Venugopal said that the budget does not contain any specific programme or scheme to solve the unemployment problem. He alleged that it was because of a lack of commitment to the youth that the Democratic Youth Front of India and the Youth Congress had failed to react against the budget. The meeting elected the new office-bearers of the BJYM district unit. They are Nedumbana Omanakuttan, president, Chadayamangalam Unnikrishnan, general secretary, Kollakkal S. Gopalakrishnan, C. Thampi and Vijayalakshmi, vice-presidents, Eroor Anil Kumar, P.S. Gopan and Shibu, secretaries, and Chathannur Radhakrishnan, treasurer.
