CHENNAI, JULY 14. After a near two-month wait, the School Education department has filled vacant posts of heads of various directorates. Two senior most joint directors have been elevated. K. Mariappan, Joint Director of School Education has been promoted and posted as Director of Teacher Education Research and Training. The post remained vacant since the retirement of P. Soundararajan over two months ago. Similarly, Vasanthi Jeevanandham, Joint Director of Government Examinations, has been promoted to Director grade and posted as Member-Secretary, Teachers Recruitment Board, in the place of D. Jagannathan. Mr. Jagannathan will now head the Directorate of Government Examinations. The Director of Public Libraries, S. Lakshmi, will now head the Directorate of Non-formal and Adult Education. The Tamil Nadu Textbooks Corporation Secretary, P. Kulasekaran, has been shifted and made Director of Public Libraries, says an official notification issued today.
