Thomas claims two gold medals

VISAKHAPATNAM, JULY 14. T. Thomas of Army Red claimed two gold medals and his team is leading comfortably at the end of third day in the 54th Services aquatics championships at the Eastern Naval Command pool here on Wednesday.

Army Red led with 62 points, followed by Army Green (30), Indian Navy (26) and Air Force (2).

The results: 1,500m freestyle: 1. K. Naveen (AR), 2. N.jana (AR), 3. P.S. Sujith (IN). 200m individual medley: 1. T. Thomas (AR), 2. N. Jana (AR), 3. V.N.B. Kumar (IN). 800m freestyle: 1. T. Thomas (AR), 2. K. Naveen (AR), 3. K. Rajesh (AG). 50m backstroke: 1. Josey Joseph (AG), 2. Rehman (AR), 3. Ashish Chandra (IN). 50m freestyle: 1. Saiju Joseph (AR), 2. R. Dahiya (IN), 3. Bino Cherian (AG).

4x200m freestyle: 1. Army Red (Trishmon Thomas, Venoy Sebastian, T.R. Vimal and S. Jana), 2. Army Green, 3. Indian Navy.

Platform diving: 1. N. Saroj Kumar (AG), 2. Atul Patil, 3. Kartik Shaw (IN).
