Mangalore college gets good results

MANGALORE, JULY 14. P.A. College of Engineering affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University has achieved 99.4 p ss percentage in the engineering examination.

The college has achieved 100 per cent passes in the information science, electronics, communication, and telecommunication streams and 97.9 per cent passes in computer science.

P.A. Ibrahim, chairman of the trust, said that of the 169 students who had appeared for the examination, 168 had passed while 147 had got distinction.

Twenty students had passed in the first class and one had secured second class, Mr. Ibrahim noted.

He said the college intended to start a course in mechanical engineering from the current academic year.

There was a proposal to start the M.Tech course from the next academic year.

M.S. Kamath, principal of the college, noted that the emphasis on discipline with the focus on academics had helped the college get good results.

Mr. Ibrahim said there was a proposal to start PU courses from the next academic year. The trust had applied for permission in this regard.
