HYDERABAD, JULY 14. The departure of the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, at the airport on Wednesday evening was delayed by 85 minutes due to one-to-one meetings with MLAs, scientists, a forensic expert and police officer. He was scheduled to leave at 7.35 p.m. Those who met Dr. Kalam were Lalji Singh of the CCMB, K.P.C. Gandhi of the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, Mahesh Bhagwat, former Superintendent of Police, Adilabad, and scientists who had worked with him in the defence laboratories here. It is learnt that Mr. Bhagwat, now Deputy Commissioner, Cyberabad, presented a paper to the President on `Reforms in policing - curbing extremism.'
