The maximum temperature recorded at the Gannavaram Airport was 27.3 degree Celsius and the minimum 22.5 degree Celsius.

Commodity prices

Following are the market prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities at the city's wholesale market on Wednesday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry:

Groundnut oil: Rs. 52, palmolein oil: Rs. 42.50, sunflower oil: Rs. 51.50, tamarind (flower variety): Rs. 31 to 35, tamarind (karipuli variety): Rs. 40 to 45, chillies: Rs. 22 to 28, rice (2716): Rs. 13, rice (super fine): Rs. 14 to 15, rice (samba masoori): Rs. 15 to 16, black gram: Rs. 19 to 25 and red gram: Rs. 25 to 31.

Power shutdown

The following areas will not have power supply on July 16 and 17 from 7 a.m. to 12 noon: R.R. Gardens, New RTC Colony, Electricity Colony, HIgh School Road, P &T Colony III, J.D. Nagar and Lakshmipathi Nagar.

Firm's gesture

The Foods, Fats and Fertilisers Limited, Tadepalligudem, has contributed an amount of Rs. three lakhs to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, according to the company's director, O.P. Goenka.
