VIJAYAWADA, JULY 14. Activists of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) set ablaze copies of a G.O. providing five per cent quota for Muslims. The activists staged a demonstration at the Bose statue centre near Kothavanthena and burnt copies of the G.O. The ABVP city leaders, Rajendra, Jagadeesh and Teja, said the G.O was unconstitutional. A community was backward if they were both socially and economically weak. They further said that reservations should not be made on the basis of just economic criteria and urged the Government to reconsider its decision. Traffic on the busy road was disrupted following the protest programme.
