COIMBATORE, JULY 14. As part of the ambitious Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) project of Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), it released the first batch of National Social Security Number (NSSN) cards for Tamil Nadu in Coimbatore last week. A total of 2.6-lakh cards would be distributed in Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts over the next two months. Speaking on the occasion, the Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer of EPFO, Anirudh Rai, said a unique number would be given to every member of EPFO. "The card will have this unique lifetime number of the individual and will be duly signed by the employer and employee." In the first phase, 5,000 cards for employees of 39 establishments have been distributed in Coimbatore.
