Case charge-sheet likely tomorrow

VIJAYAWADA, JULY 15. The charge-sheet in the murder of Y. Sri Lakshmi, is likely to be filed on Saturday, setting in motion the formal trial of the accused, Y. Manohar.

As many as 50 persons including 26 final-year students and S. S. N. Sharma, a professor of Kakatiya University, who was present at the time of the incident are being roped in as prosecution witnesses, officials said. Of the 26 students, three along with Prof. Sharma, were present at the classroom for the viva-voce, when Manohar allegedly stabbed the girl to death, while 10 students were outside. The officials have collected copies of the complaint written to the college by Sri Lakshmi about the alleged harassment by Manohar and the documents pertaining to the subsequent summoning of his parents by the management.
