HYDERABAD, JULY 15. The Revenue Minister, Dharmana Prasada Rao, has made it clear that the Formula 1 car racing course is not the Government's priority and that no step is initiated for land acquisition. He told P. Janardhan Reddy (Congress) during question hour in the Assembly on Thursday that there was no such proposal with the Government now. The Government was not prepared to spend crores of rupees on creating infrastructure for the project. Its priorities were different and would rather focus on irrigation and solving problems faced by farmers. On persistent questioning by Mr. Reddy, the Minister said the previous Government had only identified and undertaken a preliminary survey of the place. No further step was taken to acquire land and not even a requisition was sent to the district administration. When Mr. Reddy said that a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by the former Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, took a decision to do away with usual procedures for acquiring land, Mr. Goud clarified that there was no such committee.
