CUDDALORE, JULY 15. The Cuddalore Municipal Chairman, A.G. Rajendran, has said that he will take efforts to re-allot land to the Vanniar Sangham, whose office here was demolished on Monday. Mr. Rajendran, owning up responsibility for the demolition, made it clear that the Sangham office was pulled down as part of the drive to remove encroachments and no motives should be attributed. Addressing Pattali Makkal Katchi and the Sangham members, who had gathered at the site on Wednesday, Mr. Rajendran promised to give back the land to the Sangham after getting the Council's concurrence. He said the lease amount was negligible and he would also revise it, with the Council's consent. Mr. Rajendran offered to contribute Rs 25,000 from his own funds to the Sangham. The PMK district secretary, Pazha. Thamaraikannan, said soon after the Municipality handed over the land, work on the construction of the office would begin.
