Counselling for B. Pharma course begins on July 20

CHANDIGARH, JULY 17. Counselling for admission against All-India Category and State Quota seats to the B. Pharmacy course for the 2004-05 academic session in Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, Devi Lal University, Sirsa and their affiliated institutions will start at the Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, 70 km from Delhi, from July 20.

According to a spokesman of MDU, there will be one round of counselling for All-India Category and two rounds of counselling for the State quota. Counselling for admission against the State quota and management quota seats (surrendered by institutions to the State agency) for both general and reserved categories would be conducted simultaneously.

Candidates belonging to both general and reserved categories would be called for counselling in order of rank or merit obtained in general category. A candidate belonging to the reserved category would be considered first in the general category. In case, he or she did not get a seat of his or her choice in general category, then he or she would be considered against reserved category at the same time, he added.

A candidate, who would take admission during the first round of counselling, could withdraw his or her candidature by submitting an application along with proof of admission up to August 3 to the Chairman, Pharmacy Counselling Board, MDU, Rohtak with a written intimation to the concerned department or institute or college. Any application received late would be rejected summarily. Rs. 2,500 would be deducted out of the fee deposited by the candidate who wished to withdraw his candidature and the remaining fee would normally be refunded within 15 days. However, if any candidate would get admission in a private unaided institution against management quota, his fee would be transferred to that institution, if requested by the candidate up to August 31. A sum of Rs. 1,000 would be deducted as processing fee.

He said that a candidate who takes admission during the second round of counselling might withdraw his candidature by making an application in writing up to August 18 to the Chairman, Pharmacy Counselling Board, MDU, Rohtak, with a written intimation to the concerned department or institute or college. The

University would not be responsible for any delay. A sum of Rs. 2,500 would be deducted by the Admission Making Agency out of the fee deposited by such candidates. However, if any candidate would get admission in any private unaided institution against management quota, his fee would be transferred to that institution if requested by the candidate up to August 31. A sum of Rs.1,000 would be deducted as processing fee, he added.\Candidates have been asked to bring all original documents and three sets of duly attested photocopies.
