KURNOOL, JULY 17. The Minister for Groundwater and Lift Irrigation, M. Mareppa, reviewed various activities in the district and crop prospects for the season on Saturday and asked engineers to conduct a survey for a balancing reservoir at Nagaradona. He also asked officials to utilise rice worth Rs. 1.5 crores to carry out repairs to tanks in the district. The Collector, Ajay Jain, the Joint Collector, Mukesh Kumar Meena, the DRO, Laxmikantham, and others were present. The Joint Director, Agriculture, Venkateswara Sarma, said that as against the total area of 5.72 lakh hectares, only 1.039 hectares had been sown so far.
