Deputy Leaders of Congress in Parliament

NEW DELHI,
JULY 17.
The Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, today appointed senior leader G. Venkataswamy and Karan Singh as the Deputy Leader of the Congress Party in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively.
The Chandigarh MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal, will be the Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha while V. Narayanswamy will perform the task in the Rajya Sabha. The party general secretary, Ambika Soni, announced the office-bearers of the Congress Party in Parliament here.
In the Lok Sabha, the Karol Bagh MP, Krishna Tirath, will be the Deputy Chief Whip and the Guwahati MP, Kirip Chaliha, the Whip. In the Rajya Sabha, the Rajasthan MP, Mool Chand Meena, will be the Deputy Whip and the Karnataka MP, Prema Cariappa, the Whip.
