KOCHI, JULY 17. Kerala champion K.A. Aneesh, the surprise pack in many majors, jolted top-seeded S.D.S. Krishna (AP) 15-8, 15-6 to march into the men's singles final of the Servo fourth RSC South Indian Open badminton tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Saturday evening. "The season has just started. Probably, he is yet to shake off the rust," said the India No. 32 modestly after his comfortable victory over the country's No. 9. The fourth-seeded Aneesh, a Tax Assistant with the Central Excise here who is more into coaching these days, will meet Thomas Kurien (PSPB) in Sunday's final. The day was packed with upsets with the top seeds in three boys sections Arjun Prasad (under-19), Ram C. Vijay (under-16) and Prakash Jolly (under-13) crashing out in the semifinals.
Andhra Pradesh's K. Sriteja (boys) and Leelalakshmi (girls) posted contrasting wins in the two under-10 finals.
