Chess
By Arvind Aaron
CHENNAI, JULY 17. Arun Karthik, a 9th standard student, had IM Poobesh Anand on the grill before letting him off with a draw, after 51 moves, in the third round of the 4th Adyar Times FIDE rating chess tournament here on Saturday. Arun was not disappointed as he had drawn with his second IM in his career, after Sudhakar Babu in another tournament. P. Maheswaran fought hard and long, despite time trouble, to split the point with top seed and National junior champion M.R. Venkatesh on the top board.
