KARIMNAGAR, JULY 17. The district Congress Committee has thanked the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, for sanctioning the Yellampalli project and naming it after the former Assembly speaker, D Sripada Rao. At a meeting here on Saturday which was chaired by the DCC president and Manthani legislator, D. Sridhar, and attended by the Congress associate legislator, Komireddy Ramilu, the former legislators, K Satyanarayana Goud, K Sai Reddy, the DCC SC cell chairman, Arsham Mallesham, the DCC doctors cell chairman, E Vijender Reddy, the district Youth Congress president, Y Sunil Rao, the district Mahila Congress president, N Sharada and others unanimously passed a resolution hailing the Government decision on the execution of the Yellampallli project. According to party sources, the Chief Minister would lay the foundation stone for the project on July 22 which is the first of its kind in the State after assuming charge. The project would irrigate about five lakh acres of land in the Telangana region. The meeting also thanked the Government for extending all facilities, including free power and waiver of power dues to farmers in the State. The meeting also hailed the decision of providing 5 per cent reservations for Muslims under the BC `E' category. It was also decided to complete enrolment of members into the party by July 25 in the district. The party leaders also decided to accord a warm welcome to the Chief Minister during his visit to the district to participate in the Rajiv Pallebata programme on July 18.
