NEW DELHI, JULY 17. The North-West Car Dealer's Association of Delhi president, J.S. Nayol, has welcomed the order of the Delhi High Court asking the authorities not to displace the car dealers, mechanics and car accessory traders from their present premises. He also lauded the Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, for having taken the initiative to resolve the problems of these sections who had been adversely affected by the actions of the civic body during the past few days. Mr. Nayol informed that the traders would comply with the directions of the court to file an affidavit stating that they would not encroach on government land, roads or footpaths. He said the court had also clarified that the traders did not require a license to carry on their business and urged the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to de-seal all those shops that had been sealed in the recent days. The affidavits, he said, would be filed in the court very soon by all the traders and said the civic body should hurry up the work for identifying sites where this trade could be carried out without any harassment and problems as directed by the court. Mr. Nayol and the association general secretary, D. S. Gill, said they would soon be meeting the Chief Minister also to put before her the problems faced by the trade and the need to have a common place where all such dealers could be located in the future.
