VISAKHAPATNAM, JULY 17. The placement record of students in Gayatri Vidya Parishad (GVP) engineering and post-graduate colleges is very high, according to its principal, P.S. Rao. Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Prof. Rao said that 30 per cent of students of the final year were now already placed in prestigious companies like Satyam, Wipro and Cognizant Technologies. This was only a beginning of the campus placements with some more reputed companies making a beeline to the college. Also, the MicroSoft had already selected two of the GVP students, he claimed. Prof. Rao said that branches of the college were accredited and GVP was trying to establish its own quality brand education and training like IITs and BITS. He announced that there were also plans to set up a hi-tech training institute in collaboration with the Government of Germany.
