THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 17. The State Karshaka Congress has appealed to the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, to take immediate steps for the providing rehabilitation measures for the farmers in distress in the State and also to enact a new law for controlling private moneylenders. At a press conference here on Friday, the acting president of the Karshaka Congress, Alex Zachariahs, said the suicide by farmers in the State was a result of large-scale exploitation by private moneylenders of the State.
