Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the protest of a group of Manipuri women against the alleged torture, rape and murder of 32-year-old Thangjam Manorama by security forces personnel. If they are indeed guilty, it will alienate the Army and the paramilitary troops from the local population. Such acts certainly do not help contain insurgency. The security forces should respect the dignity and modesty of women while dealing with them in their line of duty.
