BELGAUM, JULY 18. The Gokak branch of the Central Bank of India has adopted Hulikatti village in Gokak taluk. A function was organised here on Friday to inform the villagers about the plans of the bank. The deputy general manager of the bank, Hyderabad, K.S. Somayajulu, and the regional manager, H. Jayathirtha, were present. S.S. Suresh, general manager of the bank, announced that the bank would double the outlay for agriculture in respect to the Gokak branch in acknowledgement of the progress achieved. To mark the occasion, vouchers worth Rs. 62 lakh were distributed among 58 beneficiaries, including three women's self-help groups.
