PTA's action against children condemned

KOCHI, JULY 18 . People for the Rights of the Disabled (PROD) has condemned the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the S.N. LP School, Kottiyoor, for protesting against the admission to the school of two HIV-positive children at the initiative of senior Government leaders.

In a statement, PROD said that despite various HIV awareness programmes it was distressing that parents and teachers were raising objection to HIV-positive children being admitted to schools. It also condemned the association for making young children carry placards to protest against the admission.
