PONDICHERRY, JULY18. Judge of the Madras High Court and Executive Chairman of Union Territory of Pondicherry Legal Services Authority, Justice M. Karpaga Vinayagam has called upon the law college students to ensure that they acted in tandem with the functionaries of the legal services authority and reached out to the people in villages to relieve them of their sufferings. Addressing a meeting organised by the Legal Services Authority to associate the students of Dr Ambedkar Government Law College with the work of the Authority here on Saturday, Mr Justice Karpaga Vinayagam said that students should become role models and make immense contribution for the uplift of the lot of the have-nots. He said that they should keep on reading good books to develop skill and also enhance their personality. Asserting that one should have social outlook in whatever capacity one was serving the society, he said that law students here could contact the Chairman of the Authority and Chief Judge of Pondicherry M Chinnapandi, its Secretary and District Secretary G Patric and the Principal of the Law College Abdul Razak (who also spoke on the occasion) to function in tandem with the authority to render legal literacy programme in rural areas. e released fifth and sixth issue of `Law Samaritan` published by the Legal Services Authority. The Vice Chancellor of the Pondicherry University, A.K. Bhatnagar said that students should be concerned about the society.
