BANGALORE, JULY 11. The cable television operators have decided to urge the State Government to lay "standards" for laying their cables so that the subscribers are not hit in future. The spokesperson of the Karnataka Cable Operators' Association, Sudhish Kumar, told The Hindu here on Sunday that the operators were ready to adhere to standards. ]"It is clear that the cables have to be strung to either the electric poles or have to be drawn through some other means. Let them lay the standards," he said. The cable TV operators were willing to lay the cables under the supervision of the Government. "Let us lay the cables in a neat manner," he said. The cable TV operators will meet the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, on Monday. Wherever cables had been strung to electric poles without the permission of the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM), his association was ready to work out a solution. "We will abide by the standards," he said.
