Arrangements on for cloud-seeding
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
JULY 18.
Two aircraft of the Agni Aviation, which have been engaged by the State Government to undertake cloud-seeding programme Meghamadanam from Wednesday, are expected on Sunday night and the concerned radar station would be ready at Nandyal in Kurnool district by Monday afternoon, the Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy, said.
Interacting over a videoconference with the Collectors of the 10 districts where the programme is to be implemented for 105 days, the Minister said that the aircraft would be despatched to inject `silver iodide' wherever clouds were available within an aerial radius of 250 km from the radar. The signals about the availability of clouds received from the radar station would be put on website and the Collectors would have to take up follow-up action.
