KOLLAM, JULY 18. Members of the Rotary Club of Quilon West have decided to provide jobs to 100 youth. At a press conference here on Saturday, the president of the club, A. Ashok Kumar, said that the jobs will be provided at the earliest at concerns run by the members. The club would also donate 200 `thalis' for a project undertaken by the Rotary district to meet the expenses of the wedding for 200 couples from the economically weaker sections. Help would also be rendered for these couples to get jobs. Meanwhile, at a function organised today for the installation of the new office-bearers of the club, 100 sewing machines were distributed to unemployed women. This distribution forms part of the club's contribution towards the social service activities announced in connection with the centenary celebrations of the Rotary International. Meanwhile, the Rotary Club of Kollam Palace City has announced providing medicines for a month to those physically challenged children who are inmates at the charitable institution, Thanal. The Club president, R. Bhaskaran, said that wheelchairs to two children would also be given. The psychiatric wing of the district hospital would be presented five drip stands.
