Pathanamthitta
By Our Staff Reporter
The waste-littered KSRTC Bus Station Road in Pathanamthitta town. A scene after the indefinite strike launched by the sanitation workers attached to the Pathanamthitta municipality.
PATHANAMTHITTA, JULY 18. The strike of the workers attached to the Pathanamthitta municipality entered the fourth day today, leaving the roads, lanes and the main junctions in the town littered with waste. The wastebins kept in different parts of the town were overflowing with waste as it had not been emptied for the past three days. The municipal market, the roads leading to the KSRTC bus station, private bus station and the road before the General Hospital were the worst affected areas. Meanwhile, various socio-political organisations in Pathanamthitta have criticised the civic body's indifference towards the strike and the subsequent pollution problems facing the town.
