ANANTAPUR, JULY 18. The general body meeting of Zilla Parishad today approved a Rs. 24 crore deficit budget for 2004-05. The income (flow of funds) was estimated at Rs. 241.81 crores, while the expenditure as Rs. 265.03 crores. In the absence of the chairperson, Jonna Suryanarayana, the meeting was chaired by the vice-chairperson, Ch. Obi Reddy. None of the legislators, MPs or Ministers attended the meeting. The District Collector too was absent. The meeting adopted a unanimous resolution urging the State Government to pay the salaries and allowances of 170 non-privileged employees of Zilla Parishad since 1987.
