Chennai in finals

TIRUCHI, JULY 18 . The Chennai District team reached the finals in the boys and girls' beating Pudukottai District (36-31) and Cuddalore District (47-26) respectively in the Tamil Nadu State mini basketball championship here this evening.

Cuddalore secured third place in mini cirls, beating Salem (30-19) while Pudukottai got the better of Erode (34-17) in the boys' section.

The results: Inter-zone knock-out seniors (pre-quarterfinals): 1. Sethu BC bt Blue Star (57-29); 2. Armed Police, Madurai bt Blue Moon BC (65-33); 3. YMCA boys bt Sixers BC (64-32); 4. SBI, Chennai bt Karur BC (69-65).
