NEW DELHI, JULY 18. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Sunday announced six venues for the Test matches in the forthcoming season against Australia and South Africa. Australia is scheduled to play four Tests and South Africa two from September to November. The venues identified are Kanpur, Nagpur, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. The Board also announced Hyderabad and Jaipur as venues for the two three-day fixtures against Australia and South Africa. In a good gesture, the Board has decided to increase the pension amount from Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 per month for all Test players and umpires who retired before 1976. The Board also announced plans for celebration of its 75 years of existence. Apart from launching some charity projects, a few publications, a calendar depicting glorious moments of Indian cricket, the Board will also bring out a book that will contain scorecards of all the domestic matches played until 2004. The Diamond jubilee celebrations will be marked by an official one-day international between India and Pakistan, the date and venue for which is to be announced later. On the domestic front, the Board will introduce a few changes. The Cooch Behar (under-19) will now be conducted on the basis of Ranji trophy Elite and Plate groups. In the one-day league, two teams will qualify from each zone instead of the existing system of two. Our Special Correspondent
