Rain forecast

A spell of rain or thundershower are likely on Monday. At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26.5 degree Celsius respectively on Sunday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 85 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 83 per cent. Rainfall at 8.30 a.m. was 7.1 mm.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 35 degree and 26.8 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 85 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 79 per cent. Rainfall at 8.30 a.m. was 20.5 mm. The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 31 degree and 24.7 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 91 per cent. Rainfall at 8.30 a.m. was 2.1 mm.

Music World opens outlets

The Music World Entertainment Limited, which is into retailing of music and home entertainment, has opened an outlet in the city under a tie-up with Trinethra Super Market. The company has launched two outlets at Siripuram and Kurmannapalem in the city.

Seminar for accountants

The Bharat Heavy Plate and Vessels (BHPV) General Manager (finance), I.S.S.S. Ganesh, on Sunday said management accountants had a key role to play in cost control, cost reduction, budgeting, planning and introduction of costing systems. He was speaking at a seminar on the role of management accountants in the changing economic trends, organised by the city chapter of the ICWAI. The Austral Indorganics Pvt. Ltd. MD, B.V. Viswanadham, the ICWA local chapter vice-chairman, G.S.R. Krishna Murthy, also spoke.

Sick units' revival hailed

The president of the Federation of AP Industries (FAPI), B.V. Rama Rao, has welcomed the Government's decision to revive sick industries in the State. He also announced that FAPI would celebrate the 84th birthday of the veteran industrialist and Andhra Sugars Limited's chairman, Mullapudi Harischandra Prasad, in Hyderbad on July 28.
