HYDERABAD, JULY 18. A former Inspector of Shahinayatgunj police station, G. Sudhakar Reddy, and two constables -- Md. Ghouse and Hanman Naik -- were dismissed by the Government as a tribunal found them guilty in a corruption case. Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials trapped the policemen when they allegedly accepted Rs. 3,000 from an accused person in a gambling case on November 10, 1997, according to a press release. Based on the ACB report, the tribunal enquired into the case and found them guilty. Reddy is presently working as vigilance and security Inspector at the Road Transport Corporation, Musheerabad. Ghouse and Naik are working in Gopalapuram and Dabeerpura police stations respectively.
Pension withheld
Pension and gratuity amount of a retired Superintendent Engineer of Panchayat Raj Department, B. Ramachander Rao, has been withheld following his conviction for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. During an inspection by ACB officials on January 4, 1992, Rao was found possessing assets of Rs. 9.69 lakhs.
