BANGALORE, JULY 18. The police have arrested a person already in judicial custody for 15 days now, for his alleged involvement in three burglaries committed eight months ago in Indiranagar. The police have recovered gold ornaments worth Rs. 6 lakh based on his information. The police said the accused, K.Raj (29) of Bangarpet, was involved in burglaries when he was out on bail, facing similar charges at other police stations. The Kalasipalyam police arrested him 15 days ago, on the same charge. He used to look for houses whose owners were away and burgle them, the police said. On Thursday, he was handed over to the Indiranagar police by a city court. Police from Baiyappanahalli, Mahadevapura, Frazer Town and eight other city police stations, and by Ananthapur and Hindupur police of Andhra Pradesh had also arrested him on suspicion of one or the other burglary, at different times. Seven arrested: The City Crime Branch arrested seven persons on charges of gambling, on Saturday from a house in M.C. Layout in Vijayanagar Police Station limits. The police recovered Rs. 16,120 in cash and seized five mobile phones. The names of the accused were given as Ravi (35), Mahadevappa (35), Basavaraju (40), Nanda (38), Ravi (38), Girish (33), and Prakash (38). Killed in accident: A lorry cleaner was run over by the lorry that was backing up near a garment factory in Jakkasandra in Koramangala Police Station limits on Saturday. He was identified as Rajkumar (21), a resident of Kodlu, off Hosur Road. The police said that Rajkumar was behind the lorry, trying to direct the driver.
