BANGALORE, JULY 18. A 20-year-old man was drowned in an open drain when he had an epileptic attack while cleaning it in Kumaraswamy Layout Police Station limits on Sunday. The police said Muniyappa (20) was cleaning a drain in Kanakanagar area around 3.30 p.m. Though the water level in the drain was not high he drowned, the police said. As it was Sunday, there were no passersby when the incident occurred. Someone noticed the body later and informed the police. It is said that he used to clean the drains regularly and collect money from the people in the area every month. His body has been removed and sent for post-mortem to Victoria Hospital, the police said. Muniyappa was living with his parents in Sunnadagudu area. Fire accident: A bearing plant was damaged in a fire, in Peenya 2nd Stage on Sunday. The police said a part of the compound wall and various articles in the plant were burnt down. The Fire Force officials said an over heated boiler caused the fire. Six fire tenders took about an hour to extinguish the fire.
