Rain likely

in some areas

The Meteorological Department, in its forecast for Monday, said there would be cloudy skies in the city with rain in some areas. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.5 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 21.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

The corresponding readings for the airport were 29 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius. No rain was recorded in the city on Sunday. The relative humidity was 55 per cent in the city and 51 per cent at the airport.

Power shutdown

There will be power shutdown from July 19 to 26, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. in Chinnappa Garden, S.K. Garden, ITI Layout, and surrounding areas because of "maintenance work," according to a press release from Bangalore Electricity Supply Company on Sunday.

Date extended

The last date notified for issue of applications to various postgraduate courses of the Bangalore University has been extended till July 22 without fine and till July 28 with a fine of Rs. 50.

The postgraduate courses are offered for the academic year 2004-05 at the Jnanabharathi and Central College campuses of the university and in selected affiliated colleges, the University Deputy Registrar, B.S. Thippeswamy, said in a press release.

Water adalat

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) will hold a "water adalat" on Monday at 11 a.m. at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, South-3 subdivision, BTM Layout.

The disputes of people living under the jurisdiction of BTM Layout, J.P.Nagar, Koramangala, and HSR Layout Service Stations, will be heard at the adalat.

RTO adalat

The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Bangalore North will hold a "transport adalat" on July 26 at 3 p.m. at Yeshwanthpur.

Senior officers of the Transport Department will be present.

Members of the public can attend the programme.

VLSI course

M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies will organise proficiency evening programmes on "VLSI system design", "turbo dynamics and combustion" and "concept sketching and design" from July 26 at its premises, Gnanagangothri campus, New BEL Road, MSR Nagar.
