Two killed in accidents

BANGALORE, JULY 18. Two persons were killed in road accidents in the city on Sunday.

Jayaram (35), a construction worker, was killed when he was hit by a van on Ring Road near Nandini Layout in Rajajinagar Police Station limits, around 7.30 p.m. on Sunday. His body was shifted to Victoria Hospital and the driver of the van, Babu, was arrested, the police said.

In Basavanagudi Police Station limits, a woman, aged around 40, was hit by a car while she was trying to cross the road, near Katriguppe Circle, around 9 p.m. The motorist was also injured and was admitted to a private hospital, the police said.

Woman found dead: A servant maid allegedly hanged herself in the house of her employer, in J.P. Nagar Police Station limits on Sunday. The woman, Parvathy (23), was from Palghat in Kerala, the police said. She was found hanging in a room in K.R. Layout house of her employer, a software engineer, the police said.

On Sunday, she had gone to her employer's house and did her chores. After a while, the software engineer's family members realised that Ms. Parvathy was not to be seen and searched the house. They found her body hanging in a room, the police said.
