Philips aims at 38 p.c. topline growth

NEW DELHI, JULY 19. Philips India today said the company was targeting 38 per cent rise in sales to cross its last year figures of Rs. 1,800 crores. Driven more by its flagship consumer electronic division, the company would post overall 38 per cent growth while the domestic appliances, semi-conductors, medical systems and lighting divisions witness an 18-20 per cent surge in sales turnover this fiscal, the Philips India Director (Semi Conductor), R. V. Sheshan, said here. Speaking to media persons during the launch of a range of automotive lighting solutions, he claimed the consumer electronics and medical equipment businesses would also grow at a faster rate than it had done so far as the market potential in India remained huge.

Pointing out that the market in automotive solutions sector too is growing, Drue Freeman, Vice-President (Global Automotive), said the Indian car market was growing at 21 per cent offering great business opportunities for a company like Philips.
