National camp begins

BANGALORE, JULY 19. The National camp for the Asian swimming championship, which will be held in Dubai from September 16 to 21, got underway at the SAAI (South) Centre in Kengeri near here on Monday

The camp includes 16 swimmers and it will be supervised by National coach, S. Pradeep Kumar, and he is being assisted by Nihar Ameen, Biswajit Deb Choudhry and Tapan Panigrahi. All the selected swimmers, who were training under the supervision of their personal coaches, have been asked to shift to the National camp.

The probables: Men: T.A. Sujith (Services), Rehan Poncha, Rahul Batra, Aniket D'Souza (all from Karnataka), Amar Murldiaharan, Arjun Muraldiharan, Mandar Divse (Police), Akbar Ali Mir (Railways), Puneet Rana (Punjab) and Gairik Bardhan (West Bengal).

Women: Shikha Tandon, Nisha Millet, Reshma Millet, Ambica Iyengar, D. Mrudula (all from Karnataka) and Richa Misra (Police).
