Garhwal Heroes drub Young Boys
NEW DELHI,
JULY 19.
Favourites Garhwal Heroes scored an 8-0 victory over Young Boys in the SAIL DSA `A' division football league at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Monday. Trilok Singh Bisht (3), Ashok Chauhan (2), Bhupender Thakur, Bhupender Rawat and Gangmulim Kemei scored the goals.
In another match at the same venue, Rohini Club beat Victory Club 3-0. Ashish Rawat (2) and Dhaim scored the goals.
At the Nehru Stadium ground, Budhist Blue Stars beat State Bank of India 1-0 thanks to a goal by Edwin Charles. In another match at the same venue, Hans Club defeated Glorious Club 2-0. Karan Bishnoi scored the first goal in the 47th minute, and a Glorious' defender increased the tally with a `self goal'.
A two-minute silence was observed at the beginning of the day's matches, as a mark of respect for the former Delhi forward Sri Prasad who died this morning following prolonged illness.
