NEW DELHI, JULY 19 . In less than a week after the High Court of Lisbon granted the extradition of Monica Bedi, former Bollywood starlet and companion of the underworld don Abu Salem, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) received a shot in the arm with the court ordering Abu Salem's extradition also. The CBI received today a communication from its counsel in Lisbon which said that the High Court granted Abu Salem's extradition in accordance with the directions of the Supreme Court of Portugal. On July 16, the agency received intimation that Monica Bedi would be extradited. Abu Salem, prime accused in the March 1993 Bombay serial blasts, once considered close to Dawood Ibrahim, is wanted by the Mumbai Police in several other cases. (A media report on Sunday said there was no split between the two as was projected.)
