CHENNAI, JULY 19. The sky on Tuesday will be partly cloudy and there is a possibility of development of thunderclouds towards evening or night. On Monday, both Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 26.3 degrees Celsius and 25.9 degrees Celsius respectively. Humidity level stood at 61 per cent and 60 per cent.

Power cut

Power will be suspended on July 21 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in J.J. Nagar, Kelleys, Kilpauk and Mandaveli for maintenance work.

Pollution level

The Respirable Suspended Particulate Matter (RSPM) of 21 microgram per cubic metre (mcg/cm) at a residential area at Adyar and 88 mcg/cm at a traffic intersection at Kilpauk was below permissible limit of 100 mcg/cm, according to the findings of the 24-hour air survey conducted on July 16 and 17 under the Chennai Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme. The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board said the levels of sulphurdioxide and nitrogen oxide were also under prescribed limits in the areas.

Schools to be renovated

The Rotary Club of Madras Perungudi will renovate two schools in Kalavakkam and Tirupporur and will also organise National Immunisation Days on five days. This was announced at a meeting on Sunday when T. Sankaran was installed as president of the club. V. Anand, General Manager of Southern Railway, participated in the function.

Results on web site

The results of MCA, MBA, M.Sc (IT), M. Tech Degree Examinations of SRM Institute of Science and Technology held in May were released on July 20. According to a press release the results can be had from www.srmuniv.ac.in.
