HYDERABAD, JULY 19. The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has ruled out any move to increase the water tariff for its domestic consumers. "There is no such move whatsoever," the HMWSSB Managing Director B.P. Acharya, said here on Monday. However, he said there was scope for a tariff hike in the non-domestic and industrial user categories and the Board was studying the matter. "When compared to other metros and even Vizag, Hyderabad has the cheapest rates for non-domestic users. While we charge Rs. 25 per kilolitre, it is Rs. 60 per kilolitre in Chennai and Bangalore and Rs. 35 per kilolitre in Mumbai. Even Vizag is revising the tariff to Rs. 50 per kilolitre from November when Godavari waters reach the port city," he pointed out.
