NEW DELHI, JULY 19. At the law and order meeting held at the Police Headquarters here today, the Delhi Police Commissioner, K.K. Paul, directed the district police to step up verification and identification drives in view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations. Dr. Paul asked the police to further intensify tenant verification drives in sensitive areas and check the identities of those residing in guesthouses. Apart from this, Dr. Paul asked the senior police officers to look into the grievances of their subordinates with compassion and take quick decisions to resolve their problems. In order to improve their living conditions, he asked the officers concerned to appoint certain people to take care of repair works in various police colonies across the Capital. Dr. Paul congratulated the South Delhi police for having solved the Delhi Zoo murder case in such a short duration.
