HYDERABAD, JULY 20. Four Congress MLAs have accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership of misleading the public with false claims that the State Assembly had no role to play in the formation of Telangana State. The MLAs from coastal districts, Gade Venkat Reddy, B. Vedavyas, Devineni Rajasekhar and M. Budhaprasad, told reporters on Tuesday that Article 3 of the Constitution required that the Bill to be taken up by Parliament for the new State be referred to the State Assembly. Parliament may or not accept the opinion of the Assembly. The MLAs also found fault with the TRS leaders for misinterpreting the word `consensus' on the formation of Telangana State as included in the Common Minimum Programme of the UPA Government. They said it was silly on the part of the leaders to claim that there was no need for consensus as the issue had gained the recognition of the President in his address to the joint session of Parliament.
