HYDERABAD, JULY 20. Business rivalry prompted two brothers -- Shakeel and Mustafa - to allegedly set ablaze a plywood shop owner in broad daylight at Indranagar in Musheerabad on Tuesday. Khaja (33), who sustained 90 per cent burns, was battling for life in the Gandhi Hospital. The accused had a welding shop near Quba hotel in Bolalkur. A couple of months ago, they removed a worker, Sattar, who subsequently set up a welding shop in the same locality with the financial help from Khaja. "Shakeel and Mustafa bore grudge against Khaja as their business was hit," the Central Zone DCP, Srinivasulu, said. Around 2.30 p.m., the accused walked into Khaja's shop with a five litre petrol can. While Mustafa allegedly held Khaja, Shakeel poured kerosene and set him on fire even as the victim's 17-year-old nephew, Anwar, watched in horror. Shakeel reportedly surrendered before the police while Mustafa was picked up a few hours later.
