Krishnamoorthy (BJP) announced in the Assembly today that a subsidy of Rs 3.25 would be available for a litre of diesel purchased by fishermen. This comprised the Centre's share of Rs 1.50 and State's contribution of Rs 1.75 as subsidy for the diesel needed by fishermen. The Centre's letter approving of its contribution was received recently by the Administration. The Chief Minister, N. The Chief Minister said that the necessary technical and feasibility study had been done for the project. The report had since been forwarded to the Central government for financial sanction. Once the sanction was available the project would be sent to the Railway Board for follow up action.
