Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
PONDICHERRY, JULY 21. Shops and business establishments will remain closed in the Union Territory of Pondicherry tomorrow as a mark of homage to the children who were killed in a fire at a Kumbakonam school on July 16. This was in response to a call given by merchants' organisations in Pondicherry. The merchants would also take out a silent procession from near the grand bazaar police station in Jawaharlal Nehru Street to light `moksha deepam' on the beach road near the Kargil war martyrs' memorial in the evening. They would also pray for speedy recovery of the children undergoing treatment for burns.
